According the latest count, there are over 200 professional soccer leagues worldwide. And that’s just the men’s game. When you add all the women’s leagues, which continue to grow, you’re talking “the sun never sets on someone getting a kick in the head.”
Right now, we’re coming to the end of many major tournaments and the beginning of others. They seem to go on and on, pretty much all year, depending on the climate zone they’re in and if players have completed tattooing all their empty spaces. Many of these countries you never heard of (all sounding like the Democratic Republic of Quien Sabe).
Anyway, if you’re a soccer (called football in most of the world) pro and you haven’t won a championship metal of some sort in some tournament, you may need another religious tattoo. Everybody has one. Some come in cereal boxes. (Just kidding.) But there are a lot of them.
