“The Return of the Amigo Cup” golf tourney, to benefit the Los Niños de Chapala y Ajijic scholarship fund as well as scholarship kids supported by the Chapala Country Club (CCC), is set for Thursday, April 11 at (CCC).
Sign up to play at CCC or Chula Vista Pro Shops for 1,000 pesos for CCC members and 1,200 pesos for non-members. Greens fee, cart rental, a continental breakfast, and a pig roast or fish dinner are all included. A “dinner and awards” ticket for non-golfers costs 250 pesos.
There will be lots of great prizes for closest-to-the-pin, longest drive, hole-in-one, straightest drive, etcetera.The Amigo Cup was a popular tournament between the years 2002 and 2007, when the proceeds supported the education of CCC employees’ children. Early this year, the Country Club asked Los Niños de Chapala y Ajijic to join forces to re-instate and expand the event. This alliance marks a turning point in supporting these needy but very bright young people.
The proceeds from the tournament will be shared, and used to expand and improve sponsorship numbers and benefits supported by Los Niños and the Country Club. The two organizations now support more than 265 students enrolled a different levels, from kindergarten to university. All are required to maintain exceptionally high marks.
Graduates from both programs have gone on to become successful professionals, doctors, lawyers, notaries, veterinarians, teachers, to name but a few.
This is a great chance to have some fun, win some prizes and help these organizations make a difference.
