An invitation to play bridge

The Lake Chapala Duplicate Bridge Club is celebrating the renovation of its facility and is inviting all bridge players, snowbirds and permanent residents, to visit them to enjoy an afternoon of bridge.

The club is located on the Carreterra in Riberas del Pilar between Mom’s Deli and the Maskaras Clinic (where Mom’s used to be). The club is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons, with games starting at 1:30 p.m. and ending before 5 p.m. Friday mornings feature a short lesson and a beginner game at 9 a.m. The doors usually open about 12:30 p.m. for afternoon games and 8:45 a.m. for Friday morning games.

It’s not a problem for those who don’t know how to play this great card game – the Lake Chapala Duplicate Bridge Club offers lessons for beginners. No one is ever too old to learn. The club guarantees that its friendly instructors will have novices playing in no time at all. And they don’t even need to bring a partner with them. One will be provided.

Wednesday afternoons are a great time to get your feet wet as the club offers lessons and supervised play for beginners.

Other than making new friends and having a great social activity, bridge is good for your brain. It is just the type of mental activity that fights off memory loss.

The Lake Chapala Duplicate Bridge Club does not allow disagreeable behavior because it wants players of all skill levels to have a good time and enjoy themselves. For more information, please see the website www.chapalabridge.com.
