Lakeside Christmas Services

Lakeside Presbyterian will be celebrating the season in these three meaningful ways.

Open House: An open house at the home of Pastor Ross Arnold (Ocampo 200, Ajijic) takes place Sunday, December 22, 2-5 p.m.  Last year’s event engendered rave reviews.  Everyone is invited.

Christmas Eve Service:  In 2012, the Lakeside Presbyterian Church could not accommodate all those interested to celebrate the birth of Jesus, so this year the service will be held in a larger venue – at Jardin Plaza Restaurant on the Ajijic Plaza on Tuesday, December 24, 4:30 p.m.  All are welcome!  Sing Christmas carols with friends, and enjoy a children’s pageant.  The children have been working very hard in preparation, and it promises to be a special and heartwarming occasion.

Christmas Morning Worship: TheLakeside Presbyterian celebrates the coming of Christ at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 25.  Following the service, there is a time of fellowship and refreshments.

Little Chapel / Christ Church Anglican

On Tuesday, December 24, 6:30 p.m. Christ Church Anglican and the congregation of the Little Chapel by the Lake will hold a joint Christmas Eve service, which will include many traditional hymns, readings from the scriptures and a brief message by Rev. Gene Raymer of the Little Chapel.

The service will end with “Silent Night” sung by candlelight.  There will be a fellowship time after the service with participants sharing their gifts of finger food.

St. Andrew’s Anglican

On Christmas Eve, St. Andrew’s  Anglican celebrates Jesus’s birth with caroling in the Church beginning at 6:15 p.m., continuing with a solemn choral Eucharist at 7 p.m., including Fr. Winston Welty’s Christmas sermon, “Your Ultimate Christmas.”  Following the Eucharist, the congregation gathers around the traditional bonfire in the garden, to which all are invited to bring Christmas goodies (sweet or savory) to share with those present.  The following morning, Christmas Day, the liturgy is celebrated at 10 a.m., complete with choir, and a sermon entitled “Learning the Language of Christmas.”  St. Andrew’s is located at Calle San Lucas 19, just a block south of the Carretera in Riberas del Pilar.
