The Lake Chapala region’s idyllic climate makes it a great place to enjoy outdoor living year round and a paradise for garden lovers and hobbyists.
These characteristics gave rise to the Lake Chapala Garden Club (LCGC), founded in 1977 as a social organization dedicated to promoting an interest, appreciation and better understanding of botanical subjects, including but not limited to plant materials, their care and use in the home and garden.
Over four decades the club built up an enrollment of 180 members, attracted by monthly meetings featuring exclusive tours of exceptional private gardens followed by luncheon gatherings offering presentations by gardening professionals, landscape designers, home gardeners, bee keepers and other guest speakers. Then last year regular activities were abruptly interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
