Christ Church Lakeside, a parish of the Diocese of the West in the Anglican Church of Mexico, will observe the Day of Pentecost, Whitsunday June 5, 10:30 a.m., by celebrating the Holy Eucharist service in person and via Zoom at our location with the red door and windows next door to the Smokehouse.
Rev. Linda Ramos will celebrate and give a message based on John 14:8-17, 25-27. The once-a-month Simple “Supper” Sunday Potluck will be held in the church after the service. If you’re able, bringing your own plate(s) and utensils would be greatly appreciated by the Altar Guild.

Lake Chapala Baptist
Pastor Linton’s sermon was a heartwarming one last Sunday. Drawn from Philippians 2:1-4, its title was “The Tenderness of God.”
“Have you experienced Christ’s tenderness and comfort?” he asked us. “How do you express it in your own life? Do you still cling to guilt? Perceived inabilities? Do you still sometimes lash out in your relationships? Do you—like most people—habitually hold a knee-jerk, me-first attitude?

Sunday, June 5, the theme will be “What Values Do Unitarian Universalism and Democrats Abroad (DA) Share?”
The fifth Principle of UU is the right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within congregations and in society at large. UU and Democrats Abroad both share the goal of supporting a vibrant U.S. democracy. Larry Pihl and Terry Rossen, both members of DA will present. Dee Dee Camhi is the service leader.
June 12, Richard Clarke will present “The Four Yogas—A Unified Theory of Religion.”

All of us expats started anew when we came to Mexico. We may have left behind cars and houses and lifestyles and friends. There were new challenges here: culture, language, dealing with employees, food, church. So we had to adapt to a new way of doing things. And because we had a chance to start all over, we may even have wanted to remake a better image of ourselves.
After 70 years of defeat and captivity in Babylon, the Judeans were returning to their homeland. For those who were born in a foreign land, it was a completely new experience. For those old enough to remember, everything they had known before was gone. The beautiful temple was destroyed, the walls of Jerusalem torn down, and they wanted to learn the lessons that had caused their downfall.
The books of Ezra, Esther, and Nehemiah cover the historical period of Israel’s captivity in Babylon and the period immediately following their return to Jerusalem. Israel’s return to Jerusalem from Babylon involved about fifty thousand Jews.
The book divides very naturally in line with the work of two men: Zerubbabel, the governor and Ezra, the scribe. 1. Zerubbabel, restoring the temple and 2. Ezra, restoring the faith.
Lakeside Institute of Theology, a part of Lakeside Presbyterian Church, is offering the second of a series of classes beginning June 21 through August 9 on Tuesdays, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m Pastor Jodi Faulkner will teach a New Testament Survey class. You’ll learn the main themes and overall message of each book in the New Testament and how they all point to the Gospel. There are no prerequisites—so come audit or take a class for credit. The Institute is a formal graduate school, founded in 2012. The Mexican Government has licensed and registered the Institute and certified the Institute to license ministers, an option for those completing masters level programs. The Institute also allows people to audit courses for personal growth.
Certificate and degree offerings include: Certificate of Biblical Studies; Certificate of Biblical Maturity; Master of Theology; Master of Theology and Ministry.
Following Jalisco government guidance, we do not need to mask anymore. However, LPC has designated an area to the left in front of the church for those in attendance who desire to remain fully distanced, and masked, for their peace of mind.

Our feeding program collects non-perishable food items to donate to “Operation Feed,” which feeds about 140 families in and around San Juan Cosalá. At present, we’re eager for donations of rice, beans or especially cash. Cash allows us to buy at bulk for the lowest prices to help feed even more families. If you opt for a cash donation, envelopes marked “Rice” or “Beans” are available every Sunday. If you sign your name to the envelope, your offering will be recorded as a church donation.

Abundant Life Church
Have you responded to the Lord´s command to go and make disciples? Jesus is very clear that he wants to engage every believer in the task of spreading the good news. While there may be some who feel qualified, the majority of people clearly see their weakness. How can we represent Jesus who is God when we are not.? Jesus gave a very straightforward answer.
