Heritage Baptist Church

We at Heritage Baptist have been marching through the pages of Nehemiah lately, and the analogies between the rebuilding of Jerusalem in the Old Testament and our times have been jumping out of the Book at us. The passages possess a meaning far beyond just repairing a broken wall.

Today’s Church body is buried under the rubble of compromise, failing in its purpose to glorify and worship God. When we find ourselves in the dark valley of despair, we must look up to the gates of peace and regeneration.

The spirit of God is that fountain within you that flows ceaselessly, giving life to you and everyone around you. Are you restricting the power of the Holy Spirit in your life? We should be moderated, invigorated, and directed by the Holy Spirit. Unquenchable, He continues in you day by day. He indwells you fully and He will finish His work in you!

Heritage is a fledgling Baptist Church seeking out our eternal family, one precious soul at a time. Join us  in the “Upper Room” at the Presbyterian Church in Riberas. Sundays at 11:15 a.m.: Open prayer, then wisdom direct from the Word. Wednesdays: Bible study at 4:30 p.m. Info: This email address is being protected from spambots. Lakeside Presbyterian Church

Sunday, September 3, Pastor Carolyn will talk about “Son of God? Or Son of Man?”

You may have heard people say that Jesus never called himself the “Son of God” in the Gospels; he only called himself the “Son of Man.” This isn’t precisely true. What’s more, as Inigo Montoya might have said, “I do not think that phrase means what you think it means.” In our sermon this week, we will discuss a passage in John’s Gospel where a disciple calls Jesus the Son of God and Jesus immediately refers to himself as the Son of Man—and we’ll learn what each one of these men meant.

English-language service begins Sunday, 9:30 a.m. and also streams each live at facebook.com/LPCChapala. Spanish service starts at 11 a.m. Everyone is welcome to Wednesday drop-in Bible study at 10 a.m.

If you need a ride, or more information, call 376-106-0853 before 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Coffee and refreshments after the service in the Narthex.

Lake Chapala Baptist Church

How long will you judge unjustly, and show partiality to the wicked? Vindicate the weak and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and fatherless. Rescue the weak and needy; Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked. (Psalm 82:2-3)

What a powerful question! Why do we ignore those who need us most? It is essential that we follow God’s word and reach out to others. We can stop being angry at those whose beliefs differ from ours. If we cannot physically help someone in need, we can give money to help them. We are fortunate here that there are so many ways we can reach out and help others. It could be as simple as using the car wash on Saturdays at the little Chapel to aid the boys there. We can support children in shelters who have been abused, neglected , or abandoned. We can help the elderly who have little means of support. Reach out. Follow Jesus and help those who need our help.
