Lakeside Presbyterian Church

Pastor Carolyn, will talk this Sunday, February 11 about: “Letting Go of What Matters Most,” from John 12:1-11.

Every person who met Jesus during his life on earth had to make a significant decision about their relationship with Him. Still today, all of us will have to decide about Jesus. In our story from the Gospel of John this week, Mary the sister of Lazarus chooses to pour out her most valuable possession, a bottle of expensive perfume, on Jesus’ feet. What might we need to let go in order to serve Jesus?

The English language service is at 9:30 a.m., which also streams live at facebook.com/LPCChapala. The Spanish language service begins at 11 a.m.

Everyone is welcome to Wednesday drop-in Bible study.

If you need a ride, or more information, call 376-106-0853 before 4 p.m. on Thursday.

There is coffee and refreshments after the service in the Narthex.

Calle San Jorge 250 in Riberas del Pilar, just south of Mom’s Restaurant, toward the lake.

Heritage Baptist Church

The believer in Jesus Christ is constantly growing. We are not sinless, but we ought to be sinning less. If not, then chastening is coming our way. God will do what it takes to soften you like clay and shape you, not because He is unkind, but because He is the most tender compassionate Being in the universe. He wants you to be what He saved you to be. It’s those small areas of stubbornness in your life that can cause the suppression of the work of the Holy Spirit. Psalm 1:1 says, “Blessed is the man that does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.” We should be careful to walk close to God and His people. C. H. Spurgeon said, “I never pray for more than 15 minutes; but, I never go 15 minutes without prayer.”

Join us at Heritage Baptist Church. Now meeting at La Estacion above Pancho’s Deli, 2nd floor, Hidalgo 75, Riberas del Pilar. Lake Chapala Baptist Church

Pastor John Speight’s 3 part Sunday sermon entitled “Three Decisions That Will Change Your Life” continued on Feb. 4 with “Decision #2: I choose to be a Good Steward” highlighted 3 principles. First, God owns everything (Psalm 24:1) and sustains all (Col. 1:16-17 NIV). Second, God commands mankind to manage His creation (Gen. 1:28). Third, we are the beneficiary in happiness and in trust from God by our faithfulness as a good steward. Finally, we read in Deut. 14:24b (LB) that tithing teaches us God is first in our life.
