Lakeside Presbyterian
At Lakeside Presbyterian Church, whenever there’s a fifth Sunday in the month, we take the opportunity to offer a witness to the work of God in the life of our church—sometimes a personal testimony and sometimes a report on one of our church outreach ministries. This Sunday, Victoria Banuet, Associate Pastor of Child and Family Ministries, will update us on the exciting progress of our school. A number of school-age children who can’t afford public school in our area have been attending school in our church. They not only get a free education, they receive hot meals every day—something their families can’t provide. Come celebrate this ministry with us on Sunday!
Church start times have changed: the English-speaking service now begins at 10 a.m. and the Spanish-speaking service is at 11:30 a.m.
After the service, join us in the Narthex for coffee and refreshments.
The English-speaking service also streams each Sunday at Facebook.com/ LPCChapala.
We’re located at: Calle San Jorge 250, Riberas del Pilar; just down from Mom’s Restaurant towards the lake.
If you need a ride, or more information, call 376-106-0853 before 4 p.m. on Thursday.
Heritage Baptist Church
Philippians 2:12-13says, Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone and it can be understood in three tenses: in justification, we have been saved from the penalty of sin (past tense); in sanctification, we are being saved from the power of sin in our lives to live victoriously before the Lord (present tense); and someday in glorification, we will be saved from the presence of sin and this fallen world for all eternity.
Man’s responsibility in sanctification is a matter of obedience and we are to live in obedience to the principles given to us in the scriptures. God ordained that through personal obedience, He sanctifies us and conforms us to the image of Jesus Christ.

We’ll reflect on how our Unitarian Universalist principles can guide us in addressing climate injustices while navigating our roles as guests in a nation grappling with the consequences of global environmental change.
Tim Boeve is the service associate.

Lake Chapala Baptist
In 1938, a 12 year old boy in Queensland Australia finds a rock he likes. Dad uses it as a doorstop for the next decade. Suspicions grow that it’s worth something. Suddenly someone is paying more money for their doorstop than their house is worth. A fancy gemologist has it cut and immediately it’s worth more than the whole town. Today it’s one of the most famous rocks in the world (drop by Sunday for the rest of the story!). The funny thing is that the rock didn’t change. Just everyone’s perspective changed. What was once commonplace is now valuable. The Bible tells a story that many of us think we know. A manger, a cross, a tomb — yeah, I’ve heard it. And on we struggle processing our guilt, shame and fear. With fresh ears, come hear (again?) the story that blows them all away.
English worship service is Sundays at 10:45 a.m. with Pastor Dan Klassen. Spanish worship service follows at 12:40 p.m. English-language Bible study is Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and Tuesday at 10 .am.
