Lake Chapala Baptist Church

Most of us work hard for the things we value — security, success, comfort — but sometimes the things we own start to own us.  We spend our lives chasing these trophies that fade, break, or disappear. Jesus once said, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”  Come explore His words about treasure, vision, and loyalty from Matthew 6:19–24 — a piercing look at what truly lasts and what brings real freedom. Money is a great servant and terrible master.  Join us as we explore how to relate to this part of our lives and find a freedom and peace that lasts.

Unitarian Universalist Fellowship

Rev. Matt Alspaugh will give the talk Grateful Despite it All Sunday, November 2, at the meeting of the Lake Chapala Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.

It seems that so much troubling is happening all at once: climate change is accelerating, democracies are under attack, capitalism is fissuring a growing inequality, this on top of our own individual struggles, health challenges, issues with family and friends. Is it possible to be grateful even in the face of all this? Should we even try? We will explore the potential of gratitude in times like these. Michael Swords will be the service associate.

Sunday service is at noon. All services are at St. Andrews Anglican Church, San Lucas 19, Riberas de Pilar.
