Enjoy an evening of romantic music at the annual Rondalla de Chapala Valentine’s concert scheduled for Saturday, February 14, 6 p.m. at the Centro Cultural Antigua Presidencia, the former town hall building on Avenida Francisco I. Madero at Hidalgo in Chapala.
Tickets, 250 pesos, are on sale at the Cultura office at López Cotilla 278B, or by request at WhatsApp 33-3106-7164.

The rondalla genre originated in medieval Spain, featuring an ensemble of singers and string instruments. The word rondalla is from the Spanish ronda, meaning serenade.
The tradition was later introduced in Latin America and the Philippines. Rondalla performances in Mexico today are more modern and expressive, using vibrant lyrics, yet still keep with the traditional theme of melancholy love and evening serenades.
