Eco Walk
To celebrate World Environment Day (June 5), Jocotepec’s Ecology and Animal Welfare departments will sponsor a walk/bicycle ride, Sunday, June 4, beginning 8:30 a.m. at the main plaza heading to the Joco Malecon.
Bring your pets (on a leash). At the malecon there will be various presentations of ecological themes, including white fish breeding, a show of tarantulas, as well as dozens of local products and artisans booths.
Open Circle
Donn Rochlin will present “Dealing with Chronic Pain” at the next meeting of Open Circle, Sunday, June 4, 10:30 a.m. at the Lake Chapala Society.
Composer, pianist and creativity consultant Donn Rochlin will share his personal journey from decades of chronic back, shoulder, neck and foot pain, to recovery without surgery, medications, therapy, exercises or any physical intervention, and how others can do the same. In addition, he will be weaving in a several of his piano compositions throughout the presentation.
Donn offers his life’s experience, and spiritual journey to help other artists and entrepreneurs bring their skills and talents to fruition.

Gay Pride party
Democrats Abroad is celebrating LGBTQ+ rights and inclusion at a Gay Pride party, Wednesday, June 14, 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Evelia’s Restaurant Bar and Grill (next to old train station) Gonzalez Gallo 24-B in Chapala. A live drag show, carnival games, prizes for winners, best costume and a 50/50 raffle will accompany special drink offers and great food. Everyone is welcome.
Tail End Planning
An informative talk by Juanita Crampton on how to plan for your pets when you are gone will be held at the Diane Pearl Gallery, Arts and Creativity Center, Santa Margarita 23, in Riberas del Pilar, Thursday, June 15, 1 to 3 p.m.

Tequila tasting
LCS Fundraising Events presents a Tequila Cata (tasting) at the Lake Chapala Society, Friday, June 16, 3 to 5 p.m. Distillery Orendain, a family legacy since 1926, will host a tasting of their line of products. The tasting is limited to 30 guests at 500 pesos per person.

Canada Day party

Round up at Oxxo
During June, anytime you round up your change at Oxxo stores, the funds will be donated to the Family Development Agency (DIF) Chapala, to help purchase new rehabilitation equipment for their center. The program is valid at all Oxxo stores in Chapala, Jocotepec and Ixtlahuacan.
