Open Circle

Peter Jeschofnig and Jeanette Monosoff will present “Rotary International and Its Impact on Local Communities” at the next Open Circle meeting, held at the Lake Chapala Society on Sunday, December 29, at 10:30 a.m.

Rotary International is a global network of 1.4 million business and professional leaders committed to creating lasting change. The organization addresses critical issues such as clean water, maternal and child health, disease prevention, and economic development.

In Mexico, there are approximately 500 Rotary clubs, including those in Jocotepec, Ajijic, and Chapala. These clubs are celebrated for their dedication to the principle of “service above self.”

In this team presentation, local and international Rotarians will showcase impactful projects that have positively benefited local communities.

Peter Jeschofnig, a retired college professor, and his wife, Linda, have lived around the world, including 15 years in various African countries. A Rotarian for over 30 years, Peter has worked on projects in Africa, India, the Navajo Nation (United States), and the Lake Chapala area.

Jeanette Monosoff, a licensed psychotherapist, spent many years in India empowering village women by teaching sewing skills and helping establish a cooperative for marketing their products. A relatively new Rotarian, she is a member of the Ajijic Rotary Club.
