As my last official article for this 2020/2021 season, I want to thank my readers, and the publishers, for allowing me to use my voice to support the area I love and am proud to call home.
To say this past year has been a challenge is an understatement. The silver lining was that a lack of “events” created an opportunity to share about local bars, restaurants, talent and tourism specialists. I trust that next season the North Bay will be overflowing with abundant opportunities for fun, great eats, magical music, water sports and fabulous events.
A few examples of the way folks stepped up to support others is impressive; many more helped beyond words. A group of Bucerias lovers supported their favorite restaurants, calling themselves “The Bucerias Supper Club,” picking Bucerias restaurants (and one in La Cruz) to have a virtual dinner. This humble Gang of LOVE didn’t receive a meal, instead donated “their bill” with 100 percent of the pesos going to the restaurant with the request that the owners share the money with their staff.
