British luncheon
The Lakeside British and Commonwealth Society holds its monthly luncheon Saturday, April 6, 12:45 p.m. at Manix Restaurant, Ocampo 57 in Ajijic.
Open Circle
Dr. Todd Stong will present “Stressing the Needs of Our Rural Villages” at the next meeting of Open Circle, Sunday, March 31, 10:30 a.m. to noon on the patio of the Lake Chapala Society (LCS).

The Outreach Committee of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Riberas del Pilar is accepting applications for April 2019 grants from Lakeside charities (ACs).
Honored
Fundación Alégrate commemorated International Women’s Day by honoring seven local ladies recognized for outstanding personal accomplishments and contributions to the community. The appreciation ceremony was held Thursday, March 7 at the Centro Cultural González Gallo.
Helping hand
Donations are being sought to help a local woman walk again.
CASA
Members of the Culinary Arts Society of Ajijic (CASA) went on a tour of Paris without leaving Lakeside at the group’s meeting February 18.
Jewish Congregation
Shabbat Torah services are held the first and third Saturday of the month, 10 a.m. and Shabbat evening services and potluck every second and fourth Friday, 6 p.m., at the Lake Chapala Jewish Congregation.
