LIA School
The children of the Love in Action School were recently feted during an end of the year “graduation” ceremony. The event was designed to recognize the academic and personal gains of the students and the ongoing assistance and devotion of the staff and teachers. During the 2014-2015 school year, the children’s average GPA improved from 8.1 to 8.5.
Wildlife Bazaar
A special charity bazaar and wildlife expo is set for Sunday, July 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Flora Exotica, across the Libramiento from Centro Laguna Mall.
NCA Honors
The organizers of the Niños of Chapala and Ajijic (NCA) will host the 2014-2015 students and their parents and sponsors in a Saturday, July 19, noon graduation fiesta at the NCA office, Chacaltita 20A in Chapala. Receiving special recognition will be those students who are graduating from pre-school, primary, secondary, high school (prepa) and university.

Friends and benefactors of Villa Infantil de Guadalupe y San Jose are invited to join the sisters and children in celebrating the orphanage’s 19th anniversary. The Saturday, July 11 event will begin with the celebration of the Holy Mass at 1 p.m.

Post 7
American Legion Post 7 in Chapala is marking U.S. Independence Day with an old-fashioned Fourth of July picnic. Those attending will begin gathering at the post in Chapala on Saturday, July 4, 1 p.m. The lunch, including fried chicken, corn on the cob, potato salad and a chocolate sundae, will be served to revelers at 2 p.m. Tickets at 130 pesos can be purchased at the door.
