Christ Church Lakeside

Christ Church Lakeside Welcomes You Christ Church Lakeside, part of the Anglican Church of Mexico, invites you to worship with us every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. for Holy Eucharist. We’re located in Ajijic, next to the Smokehouse Restaurant. This week’s sermon, “Lost and Found” by Rev. Danny Borkowski, is based on Luke 15:1–10 — a powerful message of redemption and grace. All are welcome, whether you’re exploring faith or deepening your walk with Christ. 


ANAVETS Unit 19 marks 5th anniversary

ANAVETS Mexico Unit 19 celebrated its fifth anniversary on Friday, September 5, with more than 100 members and well-wishers in attendance. Guadalajara’s new Canadian Consul and Senior Trade Commissioner Sébastien Moffett and Assistant Consular Officer Stephanie Saavedra were welcomed as honored guests.

Little Chapel by the Lake

Sunday, August 31, Brother Thomas Walker will speak at the 11 a.m. service.

Donations for our mission, San Juan Tecomatlan, are always gladly accepted via our big purple box in front of the Chapel. The next outreach date is Tuesday, September 2, meeting at 3 p.m. in front of the Chapel to carpool to San Juan Tecomatlan.

Tuesday’s Bible Study in the book of Zechariah, is at 4:30 p.m. and Thursday’s Bible Study at 10 a.m. are held at Pastor Thomas’ home at Avenida del Parque 123 in Chula Vista and both are also available via Zoom.

Saturday’s carwash fundraiser is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of the Chapel by the boys from Mama Cleo’s boys home.

Common Ground celebrates one year of worship

Just over a year ago, Dr. Wayne Cook and Dr. Ted Rogers began planning a church on the west side of Ajijic. United in vision, they wanted to start a church that would reach out to the community and meet the needs of locals both in word and deed.

Imagine chemotherapy treatments continuing after surgery and radiation, two per month, for seven months — 14 treatments total.

Imagine you’re just a little three-year-old girl. Imagine you’re her parents.

Gospel choir takes root at Lakeside

The voices rose almost spontaneously at a community potluck in 2023. One song turned into another, and laughter mixed with harmony as neighbors discovered the joy of gospel music together. Out of that moment, what seemed like a passing suggestion — Why not start a gospel choir? — begun to transform into a movement at Lakeside.
