Employees of Japan’s Yamaha Corporation came specifically to Jalisco to talk with musicians here, including members of the famed Vargas de Tecalitlan band, regarding exactly what sound they require of a trumpet.
After a year-long development phase, the result is the new Yamaha Mariachi Trumpet, that delivers the lively, crisp sound that is a characteristic of the genre. The retail cost of the instrument is around $US2,400.
