Kenyan favorite clinches city’s 30th anniversary marathon

Kenyan athlete Hillary Kipchirchir Kimaiyo cruised to victory in the 30th Guadalajara marathon on Sunday, October 19. Meanwhile, the women’s race was won by the Mexican athlete Dulce María Rodríguez de la Cruz. Around 3,500 people participated in the annual event, which took the runners on a 26.2-mile-loop around Guadalajara and Zapopan.

 


Kenyans ace top spots in scenic Jocotepec race

Kenyan runner Joseph Ngetich garnered top honors at Jocotepec’s inaugural Carrera Panorámica, sailing across the finish line in the October 12 race in a time of 41 minutes, 33 seconds. His compatriot Ruth Kimutai nailed first place in the women’s field, clocking in at 46:43.
