The courses will be jointly funded by the private transport cooperative, Alianza de Camioneros de Jalisco, and the Jalisco Labor Department. The initial investment in the program will be three million pesos.
Emphasis will be placed on road safety during the training sessions. At the end of the course, drivers will receive certification as professional bus drivers.
Labor Secretary Eduardo Almaguer said a major aim of the course is to “dignify” the profession of bus drivers.
