Guadalajara city hall plans to put that right with a new initiative to plant 20,000 roses during the remainder of the year.
Senior city officials got their hands dirty last week to start program in the plaza facing the Santuario de Guadalupe Church. The idea is to plant the roses, as well as some evergreen trees, in 50 locations, most of them in the downtown historic and tourist heart of Guadalajara.
