Jalisco chefs go head-to-head for Tenedor de Oro

Hosted by the Jalisco branch of the National Restaurant Chamber (Canirac), the prestigious contest is divided into eight categories. Five remain from last year: Typical Mexican Cuisine; Contemporary Mexican Cuisine; Hotel Restaurants; Jalisco Chains and Restaurants Specializing in International Food; while three news ones have been added: Entrepreneur; Fusion Cuisine and Signature Cuisine.

Last year Canirac received 180 applications and admitted 32 finalists. Organizers hope that number will double this time. Around 1,500 restaurants in Jalisco are affiliated to Canirac. Go to canirac.org.mx for details.
