The adolescent mother gave birth at a Green Cross clinic in Tlajomulco last week. On the same day, Eli Valdovinos came to the clinic and demanded to take away the baby, saying he was the father. He is alleged to have assaulted staff when they refused to hand over the infant.
An arrest warrant for Valdovinos was issued after the Family Development Agency (DIF) notified the Jalisco Attorney General’s Office (Fiscalia) of the age of the mother. The girl and the child are being cared for at a shelter in Tlajomulco. Her name has not been released.
