State offers outlet to junk unwanted gadgetry

Items that can be left for recycling are: laptops, cellphones, iPods, palms, mouses and keyboards, video game consoles, hard drives, telecommunications equipment, monitors (only with CPUs), decoders, printers, copiers, fax machines, DVD, CD and MP3 players, Videocassete players and recorders, voltage regulators, video projectors, discs and floppy discs, typewriters, cables, chargers, small household electronic items, microwave ovens, radios and stereos, solar heaters and solar panels.

Items not accepted are televisions, light bulbs, batteries, monitors without CPUs and washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, etcetera.

Collection points open in Guadalajara on Friday, February 27 are the car park of the Parque Agua Azul, located at Avenida Las Palma

s and Dr. R. Michel, by the Museo de Paleontologia and the C7 television channel at Francisco Rojas Gonzalez 155 (also on Saturday, February 28), while  the items can also be dropped off at the Bosque Colomos car park on Avenida Patria on February 28 only.

Unfortunately, neither Chapala or Jocotepec are included in the state-run program this year, although both are likely to participate in an intermunicipal campaign at a later date.  However, items can be dropped off in the main plaza in Ixtlahuacan de los Membrillos on Friday, February 20 and Saturday, February 21.

The campaign reaches Puerto Vallarta on March 13 and 14, with drop-off points set to include Soriana Pitillal, the Unidad Deportivo Agustin Flo

res, the Centro Internacional de Convenciones and the main plaza in Ixtapa.
