Want to try some of Mexico’s most classic food at this time of year? Then head over to the American Society (Amsoc) for its Mexican Independence Day luncheon on Thursday, September 12, and help yourself to some delicious chiles en nogada.
To enjoy this September delight, you will have to reserve before Tuesday, September 3 at 33-3121-2395. No RSVP is necessary if you prefer the other dish on offer, enchiladas verdes.
Following the meal, which starts at noon, the movie “Hidalgo: The Untold Story” (“La Historia Jamás Contada”) will be shown.
This entertaining feature film stars Demián Bichir as Miguel Hidalgo, who started the Mexican War of Independence, which eventually ended the Spanish dominion over Mexico. In Spanish with English subtitles.
