Mariachi musicians diligently space themselves at a safe distance in Guadalajara’s Plaza de los Mariachis as they wait for the unlikely possibility someone will hire them to play a tune or two.
While the plaza’s eateries and bars are closed, the nearby San Juan de Dios market is still open, so the zone is not completely bereft of activity.
