Local ballet star picks up yet another award

The Jalisco state government has awarded Tapatio ballet star Isaac Hernandez, a principal dancer with the English National Ballet, with the prestigious 2020 Jalisco Prize (Premio Jalisco) in the category of arts and culture.

The award is given to outstanding individuals born in the state who have made significant contributions in the areas of research, science, arts, culture, sports and academia.  Hernandez said he is honored to receive the recognition, and will donate the prize money to the development of young ballet talent in his home state.

In 2018, Hernandez won ballet’s Oscar, the Prix Benois de la Danse.
