Like vultures zeroing in on a carcass, neighbors living adjacent to the Guadalajara-Chapala highway near the city airport took advantage of an accident on Thursday in which a trailer loaded with 50 tons of beer overturned on their doorstep.
Locals were alerted quickly as hundreds of beer cans spilled onto the highway. Predictably, significant quantities of the load had vanished before authorities arrived and sealed off the zone.
