The Cathedral is being “mapped” Thursdays and Saturdays at 8:45 p.m., and Fridays and Sundays at 7:45 and 8:45 p.m. The transformation of the Santuario on Avenida Alcalde takes place Thursdays through Sundays at 8 and 8:45 p.m. By mapping the contours and surfaces of a building, technologists and artists can project animations onto them, creating the illusion that they are being transformed in real time. Brands and events companies are increasingly using projection mapping technology, although there seem to be few regulations in Mexico governing its use.
