Foreigners using the offices of the National Immigration Institute (INM) in Guadalajara are reminded that they can make appointments online for 22 different tramites (procedures), including changes to one’s immigration status from temporary to permanent.
Online appointments are also available at INM offices in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico City, Toluca, San Miguel de Allende, León, Tijuana, Cabo San Lucas, Monterrey, Tapachula, Puebla, Querétaro, Mérida, Cancún and Playa del Carmen.
To make an appointment, interested parties must go online to www.gob.mx/inm and fill out the appropriate application for the procedure they require. They can select the date and time they wish to attend. They are advised to arrive ten minutes before the appointment time.

Other procedures that can be done via an appointment include change of address, replacement of a lost immigration document, permission to leave the country while a procedure is in process, and permission to work and change in work status.
