Guadalajara will host the VII World Forum of Mexican Gastronomy from October 27 to 30.
The stated aim of the event is to “place Mexican culinary culture in a global context and generate an exchange of knowledge and experiences among the protagonists who influence the world of gastronomy.”
The forum is organized by the Conservatory of Mexican Gastronomic Culture and the municipality of Guadalajara, and will bring together the academic community, students, teachers, industrial food producers and promoters of cultural tourism, among others.
The main theme of this year’s forum, ”Hand in hand with traditional cooks from Mexico and Spain,” seeks to strengthen the ties between culinary cultures that gave rise to today’s mestizo cuisine. The forum will include activities such as conferences, dialogues, round tables and panels, as well as exhibits by small producers, demo-conferences, workshops and tastings, and arts and crafts sales. For more information and details on how to register, see www.viifmgm.com.
The forum will take place in three locations: the Plaza de la Liberación, Museo del Periodismo y Artes Gráficas and the Museo Regional de Guadalajara.
