Athletes from Kenya filled the three top spots in the men’s race of the 2022 Guadalajara Marathon, held on Sunday, November 6.
Edwin Kibet crossed the finishing line first in a time of 2:10.19, followed by compatriots Kenneth Kiplagat (2:10.46) and Simon Cheprot (2:11.22).
In the women’s race, Linet Chebet of Uganda came in first and Jemila Wortesa of Etiopía took second place, with times of 2:30.50 and 2:32.48 respectively. Guadalupe Oropeza from Tonala was third, proudly becoming the only Mexican to stand on either podium in this year’s event.
Martín Velasco Soria of Mexico took top place in the race for para athletes.
