A tribute band with one big difference

Want to rock to some of the back catalog from legendary UK band The Police?

pg10In 2017, the band’s lead guitarist Andy Summers, at the sprightly age of 75, formed a new group, Call The Police, with two Brazilian musicians, Rodrigo Santos on bass guitar and vocals and Joao Barone on drums.

The band is on a current tour of Mexico, taking in three cities, including a show at Guadalajara’s Conjunto Santander on Friday, March 17, 9 p.m.

Their shows include most of the original band’s greatest hits, such as “Every Breath You Take,” “Message in a Bottle,” “Roxanne” and “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic.”

Many fans may wonder if Santos’ vocals will even get close to Sting’s distinctive sound but, hey, it’s a tribute band, albeit with a difference (now 80-year-old Summers).

Tickets for the concert cost from 500-2,100 pesos and are available from the Conjunto website at boletos.conjuntosantander.com.
