Guinness on tap
The Real Irish Pub, located at Libertad 1900, across from the U.S. Consulate General in Guadalajara, will open early, at 4:30 p.m., on Friday, March 17, St. Patrick’s Day.
The pub is the only bar in Guadalajara to sell Guinness on tap. Another Irish-themed bar that is expected to be busy on March 17 is McCarthy’s in the Plaza Galerias (Vallarta and Rafael Sanzio).
Women composers
In a month when women are universally celebrated, the Jalisco State Choir is honoring contemporary female composers, the majority of them from Jalisco, in two concerts scheduled Wednesday, March 22 and Wednesday, March 29 at the Edificio Arroniz, the headquarters of the Jalisco Department of Culture. There is no charge to attend the concerts, which both begin at 7 p.m. The graceful, colonial Arroniz building is at Zaragoza 224 in the Guadalajara centro historico.
