“The need for a second aqueduct is undeniable to allow for necessary maintenance of the current line and to cease use of the Canal de Atequiza, which is twice as long and presents serious drawbacks,” he explained, pointing to open-air channel’s susceptibility to excessive evaporation and pollutants, along with the inability to accurately measure the volume of water drawn from the lake on that route.
