The European Union (EU) is the guest of honor at the 37th edition of the Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL), which will be held from November 25 to December 3.
According to a FIL press release, the event will celebrate “the great richness of the cultural and linguistic diversity of the EU, the foundation of its history and present.”
The EU literary program includes the participation of more than 70 renowned writers from the 27 EU countries and Ukraine. The authors will participate in round tables and debates, public readings, poetry meetings, presentation of European anthologies, literary dialogues, exchanges with the public and activities related to reading and the promotion of literature
In addition, more than 50 publishers and professionals from the 27 EU countries will participate in a program designed to facilitate and promote mutually enriching collaborations with professionals and with the Mexican and Latin American book industry.
The EU guest of honor program includes the presence of publishing industry professionals, in particular independent publishers, international rights agents, librarians, booksellers, illustrators, distributors, translators and other book sector professionals from all 27 member states of the EU, who will participate in a program dedicated to exploring opportunities for lasting collaboration with their Latin American counterparts.
