Cilantro shortage

Taco vendors in many parts of Mexico have been forced to remove one essential ingredient from the country’s most iconic dish. 

Hail, drought and high temperatures have sent the price of cilantro (coriander) through the roof.  Many cilantro crops in the states of Puebla, Hidalgo and Nuevo León have been devastated by the inclement climate, reports say.

Italy & Vallarta

Just over 11,000 people boarded the Italian Military Navy training ship “Amerigo Vespucci” during its five-day stay in Puerto Vallarta last week.  During the visit, Interim Vallarta Mayor José Martínez Gil and Alessandro Modiano, the Italian Ambassador to Mexico, announced they are looking at the possibility of establishing a Sister City relationship between Puerto Vallarta and an Italian coastal city, perhaps either Naples, or the island of Sicily, one report said.
