Guadalajara’s Metropolitano Park hosts an Otoño Bierfest (Autumn Beer Fest) on Saturday, September 20, and Sunday, September 21.
Organizers say the event will be inspired by the legendary Oktoberfest held each year in Munich, Germany, a celebration started in 1810.
Expect nonstop musical entertainment and dancing, with beer provided by brewers such as Bayreuther and Erdinger flowing all day. Traditional German foods, including iconic sausages and freshly baked pretzels, will also be available. Visitors can have their photos taken in traditional German attire at special booths, and budding archers can show off their skills at an archery range.
Tickets may be purchased in advance online at boletomovil.com. The cost is 800 pesos (or 1,200 pesos for VIP), which includes an official one-liter commemorative beer glass and a 500-ml serving of beer. The VIP area has its own dedicated zone and private bathrooms. Valet parking is available for 50 pesos.
Organizers say the event will be limited to 1,000 visitors.
The beer festival takes place in the segregated section of Metropolitano Park known as Titanes, located at the intersection of Tchaikovsky and Sebastián Bach.
