A Chinese-manufactured train completed its first test run along Line Four of Guadalajara’s subway network (Tren Ligero) last week.
The 21-kilometer line runs from the center of Tlajomulco through 24 southern metro-area suburban neighborhoods, to the Peribús (Periférico) and Macrobús (Calzada Independencia) BRT bus lines. The line has eight stations, takes 35 minutes to traverse, and has the capacity to transport 110,000 passengers daily. The project is approximately 75 percent complete and is expected to be inaugurated before Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro finishes his term on December 1.
