There’s a new option in Zapopan for freelancers and remote workers who prefer not to work from home or a coffee shop.
Zapopan City Hall has launched a new community development initiative, offering locals the chance to work or study in comfortable, air-conditioned spaces for free.
These specially designed spaces provide an office-like environment, complete with computer equipment, free Wi-Fi and meeting rooms, mirroring the co-working initiatives that have become so popular worldwide.
The program, named Común_n!, has debuted with four locations: Biblioteca Las Águilas, Biblioteca Chapalita, Academia Central, and Academia Bosques del Centinela. Two of these spaces are housed within existing public libraries, while the other two are located within municipal academies that offer training courses in areas such as cooking, jewelry making, hairstyling, and other trades for local youth and residents.
In total, Zapopan City Hall has committed to remodeling seven of its 12 existing municipal academies, each of which will feature a Común_n! co-working space.
