The LGBTQ+ community in Guadalajara will hold two Pride marches in June (International LGBTQ+ Pride Month), each highlighting slightly different priorities and approaches.
The first event, La Marcha del Orgullo, will take place on Saturday, June 7, beginning at 2 p.m. at the Glorieta Minerva. The march will proceed along Avenida Hidalgo and continue down Avenida Chapultepec, ending at the Glorieta Niños Héroes (also known as the Monument to the Disappeared). This march is known for spotlighting a specific social cause each year and expressing solidarity with marginalized groups. At the final destination, participants will enjoy a street festival featuring international bands and other artists. Organizers expect around 150,000 attendees.
The second event, Guadalajara Pride, will be held one week later, on Saturday, June 14. Participants will gather at 1 p.m. along the Alcalde pedestrian walkway, near the intersection of Avenida Juárez and 16 de Septiembre. From there, the march will head west along Juárez/Vallarta, past the city’s iconic arches, and conclude at the Glorieta Minerva, where a large concert will cap off the celebration.
