Bullfighting evokes strong opinions in Mexico. People are either vehemently opposed to it or believe it should be preserved as an integral part of the country’s cultural heritage.
Despite ongoing efforts by activists and some politicians to ban bullfighting in Jalisco, the tradition remains alive, thanks in large part to a powerful lobby that fiercely defends its continuation.
