Enjoy a great day out at city’s Livestock Fair

Organized by the Regional Ganadera Union of Jalisco, the family-friendly fair exhibits a wide range of livestock breeds, including Spanish and Appaloosa horses, Beefmaster and Angus cattle, and various sheep, pigs and goats. A highlight is the collection of rare albino horses.

Beyond the animals, visitors can enjoy a variety of activities, including musical performances (mostly banda and mariachi), dancing horses, dog agility demonstrations, lucha libre, folk dancing, clowns and charreadas (Mexican rodeos). Food and alcohol lovers can indulge in barbecued treats, and tequila and raicilla, while shoppers can hunt for leather products at the many sales booths.

The fairgrounds are located at the Glorieta Alamo, where Avendia Lazaro Cardenas meets the Carretera a Chapala.  Gates open daily at 9 a.m., with entry fees of 70 pesos for adults and 30 pesos for children. For more information, visit www.ugrj.org.mx.
