Foodies in Jalisco will be eagerly awaiting the news of the first eatery in the state to be awarded a Michelin star.
Last week, Jalisco joined Yucatán and Puebla on one of the world’s most prestigious gastronomic maps.
Mexican Tourism Minister Josefina Rodríguez Zamora called the guide’s 2026 expansion “a recognition of the greatness of our traditional cuisine.” She noted that an estimated 30 percent of traveler spending goes toward food and beverages.
