State police bust Lake Chapala area drug camps

A police task force operating under command of Jalisco’s Attorney General Office swooped in the Chapala area Wednesday, February 22

where they dismantled three improvised laboratories for manufacturing synthetic narcotics.

One of the clandestine drug camps was discovered in the Las Brisas subdivision on the outskirts of Chapala, another was on the banks of the Santiago River outside Atotonilquillo and the third in the hamlet of El Rodeo pertaining to Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos. The agents confiscated assorted equipment, containers and chemical substances at each site, taking four suspects into custody at the last location.
