Public events at the Auditorio de la Ribera in La Floresta will be suspended indefinitely as of Sunday, March 15, in preparation for a major remodeling project, to be undertaken by Jalisco’s Culture Department (SCJ).
The facility will be expanded for conversion into one of five regional hubs for cultural and tourism activities. The other “Estaciones Culturales” will be located in Ciudad Guzmán, Lagos de Moreno, Mezquitic and Puerto Vallarta.
According to Auditorium manager Estebán de Anda, SCJ officials have not yet defined when renovation work will commence nor how long it will take to complete the project. He indicated that most programs previously booked for after mid-March and later have been rescheduled to take place prior to the shutdown.
