Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro paid an official visit to Chapala on Wednesday, September 29, to inspect progress on two major projects funded by the state government that were initiated during the term of Mayor Moisés Anaya.
The first stop was to join Anaya at the inauguration of the rehabilitation of the Unidad Deportiva sport and recreation complex located in the Plaza de Toros barrio. The project entailed a top to bottom makeover of the soccer pitch, with replacement of the grass field, installation of an irrigation system and upgrades of the spectator stands and dressing rooms. Other improvements to the ground included the addition of a soccer-7 field, playground equipment for small fries, benches for seating visitors, repairs to the basketball and volleyball courts and restrooms, new lighting fixtures and construction of a perimeter wall. Total price tag: 15 million pesos.
