The Virgin of Zapopan arrived for an overnight vigil at Chapala’s San Francisco parish on Wednesday, October 27, repeating the customary fall visit of Lake Chapala’s religious patroness in thanksgiving for the benefits of the rainy season.
The following afternoon the tiny statue was transported to Ajijic for a second night at San Andrés church to accompany the Virgen del Rosario prior to the celebration held in her honor on October 31.
