The headquarters of Chapala’s Dirección de Seguridad Pública (DSP) held a ceremony Wednesday, June 15 to formalize the promotion of 25 officers serving on the local police force.
The 24 officers rising to the rank of Policia Tercero qualified for a higher standing by completing standard basic training and other requirements to obtain the state of Jalisco Certificado Único Policial. Another officer was bumped up to Second Grade status for merit in the line of duty. All will now receive a corresponding pay raise and other perks.
“The security in our municipality and the professionalization of our police is of utmost importance to this administration,” declared Mayor Alejandro Aguirre.
