Work on the renovation of Chapala’s Avenida Madero has led to a new discovery of relics long ago buried beneath the ground.
Last August workmen came across a number of broken ceramic artifacts from ancient times.
This time a backhoe digging up the street in front of the San Francisco Church uncovered human remains in the area used as the local graveyard up until 1865. Ramón Zepeda, who works washing cars just around the corner, happened by and picked up 13 bone fragments, apparently pertaining limbs and skulls of people once laid to rest on that spot.
