Chapala Mayor Alejandro Aguirre made much ado about the benefits rendered to his constituents in his second Informe de Gobierno (state-of-the-municipality report), delivered on September 13.
He summed up his administration’s achievements over the past 12 months with frequent repetitions of the slogan “A Chapala se Cumple,” roughly translated as “Promises to Chapala have been fulfilled.”
During the 90-minute presentation held in front of City Hall, Aguirre summarized the contents of a 200-page printed Informe magazine with brief speeches interspersed between four videos illustrating government expenditures, public services and public works carried out under his watch. The event agenda also included a report on the activities of the local Family Development Agency (DIF) presented by the mayor’s wife, Erika Torres Herrera.
